If marijuana is suppose to be for medical purposes why do proponents constantly want us to compare alcohol to marijuana?   Do they think alcohol is a medicine? Or are they really making a statement that this is about recreational legalization not medicine?

1. Alcohol's ingredients are listed on a label, manufactured and distributed in the highly regulated and controlled system.. Marijuana contains more than 400 known chemicals, including the same cancer-causing substances found in tobacco smoke. Unlike cigarette smokers, pot smokers tend to inhale deeply and hold the smoke as long as possible to increase the effect of the drug, worsening the damage to the lungs.

2. Alcohol is water soluble and is eliminated from the body in a few hours linearly, but THC is fat soluble is eliminated in half-lives and  stays in the body for days, possibly months, depending on the length and intensity of usage.

3. Smoked Marijuana always get you high.   Alcohol does not.
